4 Family-Friendly Things to Do in Kinston This Month
There’s always so much to see and do in Kinston, and June is no different! With schools letting out, it’s time to collect all the family electronic devices and unplug for a while. Here are 4 activities to explore with your family this month:
1. Enjoy live music at Sand in the Streets.
Sand in the Streets is a free summer concert series in Downtown Kinston. Every other Thursday, music starts at 6:00 p.m. in Pearson Park. Spare Change will be playing on June 8, and The Blackwater Rhythm & Blues Band on June 22.
2. Find local produce and crafts at the Lenoir County Farmer’s Market.
The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market is located along the scenic Neuse River in historic downtown Kinston. The market features the best local produce and crafts from the area. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Farmer’s market is a vibrant and rewarding destination for fun, food and fascination.
3. Take an art class at the Community Council for the Arts.
Step outside your comfort zone and try something new! Classes for children and adults include pottery, iPad painting, painting with acrylics, and more. The Community Council for the Arts also offers summer camps for children. Learn more here!
4. Root for the home team at a Down East Wood Ducks baseball game.
America’s favorite pastime is fun for the whole family! The Down East Wood Ducks are the Carolina league’s newest professional baseball team and an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. And don’t forget about these daily promotions:
Mondays – $1 hot dogs, $3 off admission for military
Tuesdays – $1 tacos
Thursdays – $1 beer
Fridays – food trucks, $3 Mother Earth beer, and fireworks
Sundays – kids under 12 run the bases
