The UNC Health Lenoir Community Walking Track is located on the campus of the hospital and available from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Landscaped to create an attractive environment to exercise in, the walking track has plenty of public parking, a water fountain, a fenced-in playground, and picnic tables. Restrooms are located inside the hospital and may be accessed through the hospital’s front entrance.

For our guests’ safety, the track is open from dawn to dusk. Parents are asked to be responsible for their children while they are on the premises.

Rules and Track Information

How long is the track?

The track is designed to be visually appealing and functional. Walking around the outer perimeter of the track six times is equal to one mile, and walking around the largest circle of the track 8 1/2 times equals a mile.

What is appropriate attire?

Walkers are asked to wear appropriate exercise clothes when exercising and to wear rubber-soled shoes.

What items are not allowed on the track?

For the safety of our guests, skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, and pets are not allowed. Parent-attended strollers are welcome.
