McDaniel-Walker Nursing Scholarship

The McDaniel-Walker Nursing Scholarship was established in June 2013 by a gift from Mrs. Laura McDaniel Walker to the Lenoir Hospital Foundation. Mrs. Walker’s maternal grandparents, James A. and Laura Warters McDaniel, donated their home to the City of Kinston in 1906. This gift was made with the belief that advanced education only serves to enhance the level and quality of healthcare provided. The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals employed by UNC Health Lenoir. Individuals eligible for the Scholarship are those seeking to advance their education in the field of nursing. This includes, but is not limited to, registered nurses (RNs) who desire to earn a Bachelor in nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The Scholarship would also include candidates seeking a dual degree in business and health care management (MBA/HCM).
