Outpatient Rehabilitation

You and your care team may choose outpatient physical, occupational or speech therapy as the first treatment option for your injury, illness, or condition. Or, therapy may be part of your follow-up care after your hospital stay. As an outpatient, you’ll receive therapeutic care and treatment at the hospital, and return home after your sessions.

Outpatient Therapy Sessions

Attend your therapy sessions in the lower-level rehabilitation gym at UNC Health Lenoir. Work with your therapist to increase your range of motion and strength. You’ll also improve routine movements crucial to daily work and home tasks.

Your outpatient physical and occupational therapy sessions will last for one hour. Speech therapy sessions are 30 minutes long.

Ask for a Referral for Rehabilitation Services

You’ll need a doctor’s referral for physical, occupational, or speech therapy at UNC Health Lenoir. Talk to your doctor for more information.
